Man sed, sendmail, cvs... I can't remember all of them, but
there are many man pages that just abruptly end instead of
finishing, and stayed that way after I reinstalled the
packages.

Hmm, I cannot reproduce here. My sed and cvs manpages are
complete.
export MANPAGER="col -b | vim -c 'set ft=man nonu nomod nolist' -"
was the problem, I forgot I reported this. If you use that as your
manpager, certain man pages get cut off at random places. I
apologize for the bug report.
