Do you still have occasional problems connecting?
Comment by AndrzejL (AndrzejL) - Thursday, 24 July 2014, 12:42 GMT
I am still investigating this bit.

this bugreport is not clear, you should be more precise when you describe the bug instead of posting a transcript of IRC,

I use also thunderbird and I don't see problems ( it's the same interface, same features, no regression ), you may have a corrupted thunderbird profile, the solution is to create a new thunderbird profile

Hi Patrick.

You know what I know. I could not be more precise as I was unable to collect more data. I was not going to type the same information yet again or waste time editing it so copy / paste from irc (lots of info there) should be sufficient. Please don't sweat the small stuff.

UPDATE 1:

Fixing the ui so it looks slightly better add this bit to the userChrome.css in the chrome folder inside Your Thunderbird profile.

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");

/** fix gray address bar in composer **/
.textbox-addressingWidget, #msgSubject {
background-color: #FFFFFF!important; /* -moz-field */
border-color: #A9B7C9 !important;
}

Update 2:

I am starting to suspect that the whole connection to pop3 / smtp issue is not related to Thunderbird. It happened last night right after the upgrade and then again this morning but it was fine ever since. I am starting to think its gmx.com that was misbehaving and it just happened right after the Thunderbird's upgrade. Just a weird coincidence... So far I have no proof to support any other theory.

Kind regards.

Andrzej
