DetailsDescription: Hexchat fails to close. If you attempt to exit hexchat by clicking the gui "x" close button or by using the drop down menu in the window or applet icon hexchat will freeze after clicking quit on the "Are you sure you want to quit" popup. Hexchat will never close or do anything after this popup if you click "quit" until I "kill" or "killall" hexchat. Hexchat appears to function normally on everything but quiting the application.
Additional info: This bug happens on the Arch Official Repos, Hexchat 2.10.0-2 I also tried the AUR package "hexchat-git 2.9.6-213-geb29de1-1" and the bug appears to be there as well I'm sorry there are no logs, I don't know where to find anything, no apparent errors show up in any logs. Hexchat just freezes. Steps to reproduce: Open hexchat, try to close hexchat, hexchat freezes. |

Hmm, I've never encountered that issue, without any trace I don't know what to make of it. Could try taking this to hexchat's dev, see if he can help debug? You can file an issue on GitHub or just plainly ask him on IRC, he lurks on #archlinux, his nick is TingPing.

I found out it was the python plugin that was causing issues after chatting with TingPing on IRC in the #hexchat channel on freenode. Using python2 instead of python3 fixed my issues and I made a bug about it on the Hexchat github https://github.com/hexchat/hexchat/issues/1065

I just uploaded 2.10.1-1, changelog says it fixes plugin crashes, however I see your issue on GitHub is still open. Does the new version works for you?

I ran "pacman -S hexchat" to replace the one from AUR and I still see the bug, I'll go over and update my issue on github.

Does it still happen or can I close the issue? I'll probably close it as upstream anyway mind you.

Seems fixed, the issue on GitHub is closed.
