Should/could the stuff in /usr/share/julia/ be optimized?

Main interest is the stuff from /usr/share/julia/doc/. The files in there is sourcecode that needs to be built. So does it make any sense if that remains in the julia package?
Should it be built to provide offline documentation and separate it into an extra package?
I have done the latter for the AUR package but I suppose it could be of interest for those who install julia from the repo.

And then the stuff in /usr/share/julia/base & /usr/share/julia/test. What about that? Should be a test function be added to the PKGBuild?
Both directories contain Makefiles and a .gitignore. Stuff that shouldn't be necessarily there in my opinion.

Other packages also sometimes have code samples installed, so that users can copy the examples over and build them in their home directory. Splitting it out into a documentation package is a good idea.

Right. I missed the examples folder.

Made julia a split package, where the documentation and examples are in julia-docs. Thanks for the suggestion.

The updated package will appear in [community] shortly.
