DetailsAfter I used the partition tool in the Arch Linux setup I tried to assigned mount points to the three partitions I created; /dev/sdaX * 3 (I tried several times, the numbers changed each time) which would serve as root, swap and /home. I was constinously confronted with an "couldn't assign partition - error: make2fs -j /dev/sdaX", I'm not sure if the first line was literally that text though. It appeared when I tread to make the root and /home partition both ext2/ext3 (and swap => swap, of course), but no matter what filesystem I used I kept getting that error. Repartitioning a lot of times wouldn't help either. In the end, I tried the simple solution of making root ext3, and /home ext2. This resulted in a successfully finished operation.
