Details

missing shared libraries (.so) in package

the configure/make only make a static libs (.a) by default

but becasue options=('staticlibs') the .a files is not stored in package

the configure have "--enable-static", "--disable-static", "--enable-shared" "--disable-shared" flags. but not working, only make static libs if set or not set --enable-shared (bug in configure(?))

i don't know if is a regresion, because this library i need/install today

debian uses "autoreconf", patch is include in sources

fixed if use patch from gentoo (see http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/dev-libs/ucl/ucl-1.03-r1.ebuild?view=markup) or debian with autorecon2.13 from [extra]

ucl is currently unmaintained upstream (last release was 10 years ago). It currently does not build without applying patches.

The only package that depends on ucl is upx (the exe packer).

I would prefer to move both ucl and upx to AUR, but am instead orphaning ucl and assigning this bug to the maintainer of upx, in case he wants to adopt and maintain ucl as well.
