Since libnm-glib was split from networkmanager, telepathy can now be built with networkmanager support without having it installed.

libgnome-keyring should also be removed since it is not required.

So this has been open for about 2 years now. Are there any plans to do this or should I just go and use the ABS?

From what I understand NetworkManager is indeed not a requirement if build with libnm-glib.
Also, gnome keyring support was indeed dropped in favour of ServerAuthentication handlers but idk if libgnome-keyring is a provider for that or not.
