DetailsSince 0.5.0-3 (which is apparently a Git snapshot), volumeicon's libnotify-based notifications are empty (see notification-bad.png screenshot). Screenshot from 0.5.0-2 is also attached for comparison (notification-good.png).

Apparently, the empty notifications are a side effect of requesting icons that are not installed. So this report can be closed as a duplicate of #40929. However, the workaround mentioned in #40929 -- selecting one of the internal icon sets -- doesn't help in this case.
