DetailsHi there,
after updating to xorg I hoped to get the full range of via/unichrome driver support as provided by the original via driver. I need a resolution of 1600 x 1200 Px with a refresh rate of 72 Hz. My unichrome chipset is supporting this refresh rate, but only the VESA mode with 60 Hz refresh rate is used. If I create a appropriate modeline these settings are ignored. Because I use my archlinux system for manipulation digital images I need 1600x1200 Px / 72 Hz resolution. If there is an other solution to get the big screen size with a refresh rate of 70 Hz and upward. Please let me now. Maybe unichrome.sourceforge.net will give me an answere? regards, Frank |

I've got the following answer from Luc Verhaegen:
"xf86-video-unichrome 0.2.3 does support whatever modeline you feed it
(on the CRT). So please try that. You probably ran into the dotclock
issue, 0.2.3 has a fully tested and complete dotclock generator which
will get you whichever mode you want."
Knowing this, may it be possible that you build an archlinux package out of the source (http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/unichrome/xf86-video-unichrome-0.2.3.tar.gz)?

Frank
