Instead of having a separate package for creating a tarball for the AUR (pkgbuild-introspection) and uploading it (burp), it would make more sense to have a common package for all the AUR stuff, say 'aurtools'.

Both packages are very tiny (less than 100 KB combined), and a name like 'pkgbuild-introspection', which then only contains one script (of a totally different name), is just unnecessary.

Cower (the downloader) I assume will never make it in the official repositories for very fundamental reasons in its current form.

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  Request makes no logical sense. The projects are entirely separate.

burp and pkgbuild-introspection are two separate projects, and pkgbuild-introspection does more than just mkaurball.

Either way it's not Arch related so doesn't belong on the Arch bugtracker.

Furthermore, ~90% of the functionality burp provides is not going to be needed anymore soon...

Well, I'm not sure where would you want me to report this then, because the two _projects_ can stay separated if preferable, but adding two different source arrays is nothing other than a packaging issue.

Also, as long as both are staying in the repos, I would much rather deal with a single package, or have "pkgbuild-introspection" do the ~10% burp is still going to be used for.

Packaging separate things together would be silly.

Maybe you can elaborate on that, but what I think is silly is to first install a package called 'pkgbuild-introspection' to create an uploadable package and then something else called 'burp' (both maintained by the same guy), to have it uploaded without opening the browser.

All this so both packages that we need can be kept separate, because they do slightly different things?

E: @falconindy, I gotta say, that was hilarious.

mkaurball just wraps makepkg, which you had to call in the past anyways. Why are you only upset *now*?
