Description:

There is a bug in ssmtp.
When a password (AuthPass= ... in /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf) contains '#' character then sending mail fails with Authorization error.
Probably its because # is taken as a comment character instead of not parsing everything between AuthPass= and <new line>.

Workaround is to change the password in both mail server and /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf to make sure it does not have '#' in it.

Additional info:
* package version: 2.64-5

This isn't a packaging problem, have you reported it upstream?

Actually, it looks like there is no upstream anymore, and none of the Arch devs are interested in this package at all. I'll assign it to the last packager, but I doubt anything is going to happen.

I just reported it upstream

It should be rather dropped from repositories, which will happen on the next orphans cleanup. Closing.
