Although reflector doesn't provide /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist by default, it would be a great addition if provides=("pacman-mirrorlist") could be added to the PKGBUILD. In this way, pacman-mirrorlist and reflector could exist together on the same system, but people who always want to create their mirrorlist using reflector will be able to remove the pacman-mirrorlist package.

Although reflector can be used to generate the mirrorlist, the package does not include the file and thus does not "provide" the mirrorlist package in that simply installing reflector does not allow pacman to function correctly. The file cannot be generated during installation of the package either because it would crush any existing mirrorlist, possibly with an empty file if the system fails to connect to the Mirror Status page.

Anyone who is bothered by the 24 KiB consumed by pacman-mirrorlist can easily modify the reflector PKGBUILD as suggested.
