libmsn is only needed for MSN support, and seeing as MSN is no longer up the dependency should be removed.

Hi, please let me understand this better: you cannot login anymore in Kopete using MSN?
Comment by Johannes Löthberg (demize) - Tuesday, 03 June 2014, 07:35 GMT
You cannot login to MSN anymore at all, since Microsoft closed the service a year ago when they bough Skype.

Yes, but the services where still running. However I just heard they closed latest in January.

The services are still running - yes it was announced some time ago that MSN would be retired, but as it still works, there's really no need to remove libmsn.

Do they? Hmm, I know several people who used it and said they no longer could log in, but then I was lied to I guess

There have been occasional times when I've been unable to login, and at times it seems some messages don't get through, but as of today, some three hours ago, I was logged in and chatting with a friend. Not anymore as I updated Kopete though.

Since MSN is deprecated I would leave it disabled.

Sven this is up to you, consider if re-enabling it or not in KDE 4.13.2. I did drop libmsn from the repos, so you should bring it again.

Nah, I will not re-add MSN, it's dying at best or even already dead.

Fair enough I suppose - there was only a single person I talked (or rather, chatted, anyway) to on MSN. And ever since the news about the Skype integration/migration broke out it was evident this'll come to an end at some point. I guess I'll have to get him to use an alternative.
