This should probably be reverted, as it has already caused problems when done on the main eclipse package (See  FS#40981 ).

FS#40981  is related to the normal eclipse package, where com.ibm.icu.source could not be found while installing "Java EE tools". Especially for this eclipse-cdt package, the source files should only be needed while developing plug-ins depending on the eclipse-cdt package. In my opinion a normal release version of eclipse-cdt should not contain the source files, because they are not required to use eclipse-cdt and all other depending packages (e.g. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/eclipse-cdt-i18n-pl/).

Required or not, upstream has provided no "install" script or similar procedure for installing the files. Copying over the directories they have provided seems just slightly closer to what has been provided by upstream, which again is slightly closer to the Arch philosophy, in that regard (even if the files are not strictly needed).

Please report this upstream to the Eclipse developers, and ask them to provide an installation script or at least installation instructions. If you include a link to the upstream bug report here, we can follow the progress.
