Details

Description: Smplayer fails to launch giving the following message:

"This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin 'xcb'."

Additional info:
* This problem started after updating "qt5-base-5.2.1-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz" to "qt5-base-5.3.0-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz" as well as "qt5-script-5.2.1-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz" to "qt5-script-5.3.0-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz".
* Downgrading those two packages to their old versions solves the problem and Smplayer launches as expected.
* Using the latest qt-packages mentioned above (5.3.0-3) while replacing "smplayer-14.3.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz" with "smplayer-svn" from AUR solves the problem and Smplayer launches as expected.

Steps to reproduce:

Try to launch "smplayer-14.3.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz" with the latest qt5-base and qt5-script.

Solution:

Seems like the package for smplayer needs to be rebuilt with the latest qt5.

This is my first bugreport. Please take this into consideration.

libxkbcommon-x11 is an optdep of qt5-base

I can confirm this. Another workaround is to use smplayer-qt5-svn from AUR.

for me smplayer it crashes in qt after installing libxkbcommon-x11.

the problem is not resolved after simply rebuilding smplayer.

this is a qt bug.
