Description:
VLC packaged in Arch apparently is not capable of playing MKVs that contain Opus audio. A few other video players seem to be affected as well, such as Dragon and Totem. Mplayer and mpv don't have any problems playing back these files, so maybe there is something in common with VLC, Dragon, and Totem that is preventing them from playing Opus audio. I've tested on two different machines, one which has some AUR packages and one that does not. Both are affected. VLC gives the most telling output. [0x7f4ce0c01868] mkv demux error: unknown codec id=`A_OPUS' [0x7f4ce0c64558] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `undf'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format. |

It seems I can get it to decode Opus audio using vlc-git from the
AUR. Doing a search, I see that VLC only supports Opus in MKVs
with version 2.2.
