Details

Description:

I'm installing Arch Linux x86_64.
Configure network:
1) systemctl stop dhcpcd.service
2) cp /etc/netctl/examples/ethernet-static ./net
3) configure /etc/netctl/net
4) Starting net profile: netctl start net
5) ping 192.168.xxx.xxx
connect: Network is unreachable

If I'm doing that:
1) ip link set ethernetInterface down
2) netctl start net
ping is good

Why don't work 'netctl start net' without down ethernet interface?
Why 'netctl start net' up ethernet interface if I down him before?

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

I think this has to do with the access rights to /etc/resolv.conf. I will send a patch for review to the list shortly.

A workaround for this problem (netctl 1.4-1.7) is to add

umask 022

to the profile.
