I have a very similar problem. The only thing different is that for me it doesn't even work when launched from the terminal.

Does this work with 1.10-1 for you?

It was working fine until recently. Unfortunately I don't know which upgrades caused this to reappear.
According to https://github.com/jonls/redshift/issues/76 it is somehow related to how the SIGUSR1 signal are treated. It is not a bug in redshift AFAIK (which has not been updated since january anyway).

I have no idea why you would (re-)open a downstream ticket for redshift if you already know it is not a redshift bug...

Because it was working fine until a few days ago.....so I guess it must be related to some recent updates... I was hoping that someone would have had the same issue to confirm that a left click on the tray icon triggers the right click. If not then you can close this bug again since the problem is elsewhere.
