Please check this https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/3273 if it can fix your issue with steam games, it's probably the same issue with non-steam games.

Tip: check the output of steam in a terminal

I have the same graphic card ( ati radeon HD4650 Pcie ),

but I don't have the bug, and I don't use steam,

I use only 64 bits games :

- flightgear : no problems
- nexuiz classic 2.5.2 : no problems ( 85 fps with default settings 1024x768 resolution )

my configuration :
- CPU pentium dual core 3.33 Ghz
- 4 Gb ram DDR2
- ati radeon hd4650 pcie ( 1 Gb video ram )
- gibabyte ga-p31-ds3l motherboard, chipset intel P31

you should edit the title of the bug report if the bug only occurs on steam with 32 bits games

yes sorry it did only affect steam games, It was just a steam issue. All of my 64 bit games run fine

It seems it was a libstdc++ issue with steam i fixed it by following https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/3273 as mentioned above
