DetailsOver the past 3-4 days I have got the following error using pacman -Syu:
:: gdm: local (2.8.0.7-5) appears to be newer than repo (extra/2.8.0.7-3) :: gnomebaker: local (0.5.1-1) appears to be newer than repo (extra/0.5.0-1) From looking at CVS and http://www.archlinux.org/packages.php it appears old binaries have replaced new binaries (I have only ever used current/extra). |

I got such message too, and gdm 2.8.0.7-5(compiled against xorg6.8.2) doesn't work with xorg7. however 2.8.0.7-3(compiled against xorg7) has been testing repo for about one month. 2.8.0.7-5 has been bring to current for solving the problem with xorg 6.8.2, but when migration of xorg dev forgot to change the package version in the testing 7 since it works well, I guess that's the reason.
Nothing matters and better downgrade them.
