What are you trying to build exactly?

wizardpen-driver in aur ....
was working fine with old X and worked fine when switched to testing, but since things moved to current it I make was updated as I re-installed all xorg7-pkgs due to missing deps and now imake error's out with the aboce message I have uninstalled and reinstalled, have deleted from cache and re-installed it.
Have posted in the forums but appears no-one else uses xmkmf

Works fine here, after fixing the Imakefile in the wizardpen source to point to /usr/lib/X11 instead of /usr/X11R6/lib/X11.
