It asks to make certain changes to a config file if you want fonts from 9pt to 12pt to be rendered with bitmaps. There is an easier way, and the recommended changes don't work in any case. Just remove the 65* symlink and replace it with the 43*sharp* symlink. See the attachment.

To be more specific about the recommended method, when I try it (and restart the application that is using the font), nothing changes. Also, a slightly nicer looking version.
