The package opera is missing several dependencies. It will not run if libxcursor is not installed.

Also, opera reports several warnings (errors? it's not clear), if no Java runtime is installed. I installed a Java runtime before I resolved the issue above so I'm not sure this is an error or not.

It's not missing any dependancies -- libxcursor is a dep for qt which is a listed depend for opera. Perhaps you have an old version of qt or have forced-uninstalled qt.
I also see no Java runtime warnings (i'm assuming you mean at start time).

Thanks for the quick reply and the clarification about the dependency between qt and libxcursor.

I installed opera on a fresh Archlinux install (both installed yesterday) with little more than the base packages. During that install I saw qt installed. I just checked the version installed. It is 3.3.5-2. I just ran "pacman -Suy" on that system and pacman reports both qt and opera have been updated since yesterday. qt is now at 3.3.5-8. I'm installing that now.

The java warnings I reported occurred before I installed the j2re package. I should not have reported those as errors, since Java is optional with opera.

Thanks again for your quick reply.

Have a good one!

I should have been more clear. The Java warnings I saw occurred when I started opera. I should not have reported those as errors.

Have a good one.
