Description:

Seems that chromium is not running with the last version of icu 53 from the repos :

$ chromium
/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.52: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Additional info:
chromium 34.0.1847.132-1
icu 53.1-1

I'm running chromium right now without any problems. Chromium isn't even linked to libicuuc. You probably have something on your system that chromium is linked to that is then linked to icu. Check your AUR packages.

Looks like libicuuc is indirectly pulled in by libharfbuzz-icu.

That said, if it's looking for libicuuc.so.52 then you probably haven't fully upgraded your system and don't have the latest harfbuzz-icu (0.9.26-2).
