Mysqld crashes immediately after starting after upgrade to mariadb 10.0.10
I cleared the akonadi mysql database and logged into KDE but the problem did not go away.
I went back to 5.5.37, cleared the akonadi mysqld database and the crashes disappeared.

Setting as high because this is a crash.

same happened to me, and when i asked on KDE's G+ community, i was told that mariaDB 10.x wasn't compatible to MySQL anymore, therefor changes were needed in akonadi to keep it working. my next question was if such changes were in the works, but that was only 5 min ago, no reply yet.

didn't file a bug because i'm not sure what the plans are...

No mariadb specific changes in git either http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=akonadi.git

And sqlite backend for akonadi is not an option. Way too slow and can't handle querying the database consistently.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried recompiling Qt4 and then akonadi against new mariadb and checked if the breakage still exists?

I tried rebuilding akonadi and it didn't work, I'll try with qt4 later

Rebuilding qt4 doesn't fix anything (instead I found that libQtScript.so segfaults when built with gcc 4.9...)
