Starting with SeaMonkey 2.23[0] there is support for using gstreamer as a backend for some audio/video codecs. Additional info: * The changes needed (adding gstreamer-base to makedepends and the gstreamer plugins to optdepends) were done for the Firefox 24 update[1]. Steps to reproduce: 1. Try to play a h.264 encoded HTML5 video.
