DetailsThe xorg.conf generated by Xorg -configure uses /dev/mouse instead of /dev/input/mice. This (at least in my case) results in X failing to start.

This has been the case for all X versions I ever used with -configure to make my X configuration. I will patch up the default mouse detection stuff in xorg-server when I have to do other updates on it. This is not critical, as you have to edit the xorg.conf file anyways to add videomodes.
