DetailsSince updating to linux 3.14.1-1 from 3.13.8-1, the backlight on my Thinkpad T61 laptop does not get turned on again after the display is put to sleep. The easiest way to cause this is to close the lid and then open it again (I have disabled putting the system to sleep with the lid switch). It also happens if my power saving settings put the display to sleep.
Doing a VT switch (alt-ctrl-F1 to a console and then alt-ctrl-F2 where my X server lives) makes the backlight work again. There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in my logs. I tried the /etc/X11/xorg.conf/20-intel.conf workaround from the wiki with no success. I have not tried any of the kernel parameters yet, but for now I'm happy sticking with my downgraded kernel. This seems to be related to bug #39798 |
