I've noticed several things depend on freeglut, e.g. wine,
mesa-apps, and kdegraphics. They shouldn't. If you use
freeglut rather than glut, Wine will have all sorts of
problems - segfaults and stuff; and mesa-apss works quite
fine with either glut or freeglut. Also, freeglut provides
glut, so having things depend on freeglut rather than glut
(or anything that provides it) doesn't seem too bright.
Since freeglut causes some problems, I think glut should be
preferred; if people want to replace it with freeglut, they
can any time they want.

Reason for closing: Won't fix
Additional comments about closing: glut is out now, we only have freeglut. The bug that caused problems on some opengl applications has been fixed.

The point with glut is that it's no longer developed and the code
is "non-free", as in, you are allowed to compile it, but you
aren't allowed to patch or change it. The intention is to get rid
of glut completely and move to freeglut.
