DetailsI’m running GNOME. The only KDE app I use is kdiff3. Through a chain of package dependency, installing it also installs a relational database server which is not used at all.
kdiff3 → kdebase-runtime → kactivities → baloo → kdepimlibs → akonadi → mariadb One of these dependencies should be made optional, or removed entirely. As a sign that this is a problem, somebody bothered to make an akonadi-fake package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/akonadi-fake/ |
This task depends upon
You have to wait until KDE Frameworks 5 where apps don't depends upon a "kde bundle library", but on specific libraries.
