After a fresh install of cheese I get the following when stating it. Also cheese starts but most if it buttons are grayed out and it will not take a picture. Works fine here, even after removing all gstreamer plugins which are not in the dependency description for cheese. Is your system completely updated, including gst-* packages?

Looks like at least gnome-icon-theme-symbolic is missing, but besides that I have no idea what could be wrong.
