upower patch is not checked in, so I can't check what is wrong here...

Note that upower changed the way signals are sent, so my guess is that batti is listening to the wrong signals now.

Checked in the patch as well.

Considering moving this package to AUR and instead moving a working battery status notification icon from AUR to [community]. Comments? Thoughts?

I don't see a problem with that, except I don't know which equivalent program that would be.

Someone mentioned cbatticon and meant that is was a splendid replacement. (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cbatticon/)

Would you mind testing it? If it proves to be a good replacement, I'll make the swap.

Sure thing. Consider it done! cbatticon runs without any hiccups on my laptop, which can be regarded as a standard and up-to-date desktop installation of Arch Linux x64. The status icon changes appropriately when charging/discharging the battery and the overall look and feel is almost identical to batti.

Great, thanks for testing! I'll close this bug and move batti to AUR and cbatticon to [community]. Don't hesitate to re-open this bug or open a new one if there should be further issues with this. Cheers.
