After upgrading to the 3.14.1-1 kernel, loading of initramfs froze the system when booting with UEFI. Incresing the boot debug level didn't give any additional information, a downgrade to the 3.13.8-1 kernel fixed it. I'm using grub2 with the configuration created by grub-mkconfig.
