regulus, when you run it from a terminal, what output do you get? Is this a duplicate of  FS#37221 ?

The second issue is similar to  FS#37221  : the ok button is not active
The first issue is different: when I make a change to the menu, everything seems ok but when I close alacarte nothing changes...even if I restart gnome-shell

When I'm starting alacarte:
(alacarte:1140): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_accel_label_set_accel_closure: assertion 'gtk_accel_group_from_accel_closure (accel_closure) != NULL' failed

(alacarte:1140): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_accel_label_set_accel_closure: assertion 'gtk_accel_group_from_accel_closure (accel_closure) != NULL' failed

Maybe the problem is that in gnome-menu 3.10.1 there are "etc/xdg/menus/gnome-applications.menu" and not "etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu" ?

Status? Still an issue?
Comment by Paul Bryan (pbryan) - Wednesday, 10 June 2015, 00:37 GMT
Yes, it's still the same issue. I'm working around it by copying files from /usr/share/applications/ into ~/.local/share/applications/ and manually modifying them.

Please test alacarte 3.11.91+12+g1bb265f-1. This release contains all fixes from git master. If this bug is still valid with latest version, please submit a bug upstream, as that's the place where these things should be fixed.
