Have you tried different gtk2 themes?
Comment by William Di Luigi (wil93) - Tuesday, 15 April 2014, 08:33 GMT
I just tried every theme under Theme->Icons in gnome-tweak-tool (Default.kde4, Gnome, HiColor, HighContrast, Oxygen) and the bug always appears. The "weird" icon seems different across different themes, though.

Looks fine here. Tested on KDE4.

Please report the issue upstream to the Geany developers, if you think this might be a problem with Geany itself: http://sourceforge.net/p/geany/bugs/

I don't think it's a packaging problem. Closing as "Works for me". Thanks for reporting.
