Description: I have just updated to libreoffice 4.2.3-1

I use also libreoffice-kde4-4.2.3-1 ( integration with kde 4 )

and I notice random freeze at startup when I launch libreoffice ( swriter, calc, draw, impress, math ), the GUI of libreoffice freezes immediatly,

it may related to the libreoffice-kde4 package, because If I uninstall libreoffice-kde4 the bug seems gone,

I use a patched kernel 3.14, Linus Torvald's patch for this bug :

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/39806

so I'm sure that this bug is not related to the  bug 39806

Additional info:
* package version(s) libreoffice 4.2.3-1, libreoffice-kde4-4.2.3-1 ( integration with kde 4 )

* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

- you must have kde 4 and libreoffice-kde4-4.2.3-1 ( integration with kde 4 )
- open a libreoffice component ( swriter, scalc )
- randomly a freeze will occur immediatly at startup
This task depends upon

Bug still exists in: libreoffice 4.2.3-2, libreoffice-kde4-4.2.3-2

Also, running via console 'libreoffice --writer --strace' for whatever reason does not hang/crash, unsure why. libreoffice --writer on its own does as does the .desktop exec. Hopefully fix soon but at least have a workaround for our office! Also can confirm all of the above as affecting us as well on multiple computers, and it also is still affecting 4.2.3-2. Thanks

Looks to be fixed upstream, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77128
Does this mean we have to wait for 4.2.4 or? Looks like ubuntu may have done a temp hotfix @ https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1300283 - correction, looks they just reverted to a prior commit from LO to temporarily resolve.

Thanks guys will keep an eye out

Please check 4.2.4-0.1 in testing. It should have all required kde4 integration fixes.

Sorry, I cannot test this (have no testing enabled), but what is preventing libreoffice 4.2.4-0.1 to go into the regular repos? This bug is really annoying, I can't use LO on any of my machines anymore (all have KDE installed). Can it maybe get a little higher priority? Thanks.

@Rene : the workaround is to uninstall libreoffice-kde4 package, this package is optional, you could still run libreoffice without this package

libreoffice 4.2.4-1 packages seem to resolve this bug,

but there is a significative change with libreoffice-kde4 4.2.4-1 : the open and save dialog boxes don't look like the regular Qt open/save dialog boxes,

instead of that we have a strange dialog boxe who seems to be more a gtk dialog boxe than a qt dialog boxe

@potomac, you are not alone, as stated in the forums ( https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1415216 ) the dialog was disabled upstream ( http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/vcl/unx/kde4?id=65a3622148ea67744c9c1fc18c2b8d48e5f1c79f ). Hopefully it is fixed soon.
