After i have upgraded udev to 084-4, kde doesn't show removable media icons on desktop nor
popup for actions after i have inserte my usb key(s).

This works fine for me though. What kernel are you using? I'm using the stock kernel, which contains a patch for uevent, which has been backported from 2.6.16. If you build a custom kernel, you should patch your kernel with the patch from abs.
