it seems that ntp package doesn't have a default config file, is it normal ? By the way, the package creates a /etc/ntp/ directory which is useless because the default config file should be in /etc. (/etc/ntp.conf) |

IMO default ntp.conf should contain
server pool.ntp.org
BTW, I could not get ntpd to sync time on my machine (I am behind a corporate firewall), but ntpdate -u pool.ntp.org works (note the -u option). Is there an option for ntpd to sync time using the same method as ntpdate -u (-u means using unpriviledged ports)?
If there is such option it would be very nice to have it (commented) in default ntp.conf.
OpenNTPD is not working too. I can sync time only with rdate -s or ntpdate -u.
