Package version is freeimage, 3.16.0-1

Steps to reproduce:

pacman -Ql | grep libfreeimage

freeimage /usr/lib/libfreeimage-3.16.0.so
freeimage /usr/lib/libfreeimage.so
freeimage /usr/lib/libfreeimage.so.3
freeimage /usr/lib/libfreeimageplus-3.16.0.so

At least the symlinks:

Reason for closing:  Fixed
Additional comments about closing:  Symlinks are in, static libs are not.

If you want static libs, open a new report with a very well thought out description as to why this package should have them.

  • Field changed: Summary (Missing developer libraries for freeimageplus and static libraries for freeimage and freeimageplus → [freeimage] Missing developer libraries for freeimageplus and static libraries for freeimage{,plus})
  • Field changed: Status (Unconfirmed → Assigned)
  • Field changed: Category (Packages → Upstream Bugs)
  • Task assigned to Sven-Hendrik Haase (Svenstaro)
This is half bug report (missing symlinks) and half feature request (static libs).

No static libs, we don't have those in Arch unless there is a good reason. The symlinks should have been created by the Makefile upon install but they are not. An upstream issue should be reported on that. I will see about a downstream symlink fix for now.
