Description:
I have found a bug when using soundconverter (files are never converted, soundconverter indicates errors). So I have tried to find an issue, but problem is not soundconverter.
When I start 'soundconverter' from a terminal, I can see there is a bug in libva.

The output of command 'vainfo' shows the bug (attached file).

Additional info:
* package version(s) :
** libva-1.3.0 (same problem with older version)
** libva-vdpau-driver 0.7.4-1
** ati-dri 10.1.0-4
** xf86-video-ati 1:7.3.0-1
** mesa 10.1.0-4

* config and/or log files etc :
** Graphic card : AMD Radeon HD 6870 (Sapphire), A.K.A. AMD BARTS
** Driver used : Open-Source driver (no tried with proprietary Catalyst)
** Globals variables set : export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=vdpau ; export VDPAU_DRIVER=r600

Sorry, I forget (and I can't edit) this :

Steps to reproduce:
Run command 'vainfo' on similar hardware & software

(and "Global", not "Globals").

Have you tried unsetting LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME and VDPAU_DRIVER? libva-vdpau-driver is kind of wrapper for a wrapper, so don't expect it working in every case.

I'm actually wondering why soundconverter involves libva for anything.

Yes, but it is no better. I attach the new log file.

And with only "export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=vdpau", the result is the same as the first log.

Problem with soundconverter can be solved by removing gstreamer0.10-vaapi package.

But problem with libva still exists. I don't understand why I can't use VA-API.

Problem seems to be solved with Mesa 10.2.
