/var/cache/pdnsd/pdnsd.cache is installed with nobody owner so it can't be writed by new(?) pdnsd user resulting in cache not writeble and updated. Ah, it looks like this is caused by forgetting to pass -R to chown. There is so much that can go wrong in the install file that I went down the wrong path searching for the issue...
