DetailsDescription:
Screen is flickering after upgrade to 3.13. Flicker is not constant. Partial redraw from time to time. Last good kernel package is linux-3.12.9-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz. Can be observed even without starting X. Video card: VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV730/M96-XT [Mobility Radeon HD 4670] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Device 7220 |
This task depends upon
Downgraded the video driver to xf86-video-ati 1:7.2.0-2 and upgraded kernel to 3.13.7-1, but glitches still remain. The twitching is still there. Even before I issue startx and start X.
My bet is kernel, but what do I know, I had a mostly carefree run until now :)
EDIT: Wait, I said something wrong. If the problem was in 3.13 already, then the cause is another one. Anyway, closing as FIXED.
