Is there any reason for --disable-linux-caps?

When linux caps are disabled named cannot bind to new interface for example ppp0 or tun0, so named restart is needed

Gaetan do you have some background about why we build bind without linux-caps?

Sorry I cannot remember. It might have been already there when I took over maintenance. The answer is probably in the svn-packages git log, but sorry to say I'm no git guru.

You can always try to remove this option, put bind in [testing], and see if someone complains. :)
