sudo package 1.8.10.p1-1 does not return to enter the root password incorrectly, and increases processor usage, in my case an i5 for about 25%, which leads me to believe that is falling into an infinite loop .

I can't reproduce this issue so it might be helpful to know:

1) The last version that worked fine for you
2) Any modifications you've made to /etc/sudoers and/or /etc/pam.d/sudo
3) An example sudo invocation that's hanging on your system

1) version 1.8.9.p5-1
2) only changed the /etc/ sudoers, is added this:

Defaults rootpw

root ALL=(ALL) ALL
%users ALL=(ALL) ALL

Defaults:my_user timestamp_timeout=0

3) myuser (not root):

$ sudo su

enter the password correctly after it enters normal but if you mistype enters an infinite loop and back not working, even if manually kill and try again, only to run back on reboot.

if the translation is bad, I'm sorry, I do not speak English and I'm using the google translator I'm Brazilian.

[EDIT] thanks, you've left here and the update is working perfectly![EDIT]

Thanks, I can confirm the issue now; the timestamp_timeout=0 option seems to be the trigger.

I will investigate further and probably report it upstream.
