Pkgstats depends on some kind of cron (viz. dcron, fcron) being present on the system. This is not really needed, as systemd implements timers. If possible, cron should be made an optional dependency. A post-install message via pacman should inform the user that it is his/her duty to make sure that this command is run periodically.
