cheese attempts to save pictures in the root directory if the XDG_PICTURES_DIR environment variable is not set.
This causes a "Permission Denied" error. The message "There was an error playing video from the webcam" is displayed in the image preview area of the GUI.

This problem was solved by running `xdg-user-dirs-update'.

Steps to reproduce:
Comment out the XDG_PICTURES_DIR line in ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs, run Cheese, and take a picture.
