Description:
I'm using pulseaudio and I seem unable to get audacity to do anything useful. Edit mp3s or record from my MIC.

Fixed it for me by $cp default.pa.pacnew default.pa in /etc/pulse.

I'm having the same problem. Cz-David's solution doesn't work for me because there is no default.pa.pacnew in my /etc/pulse folder.

I'm using:

audacity 2.0.5-2
lame 3.99.5-2
pulseaudio 5.0-1

Using default.pa.pacnew fixed the problem for me.
