This was already reported in the red hat's (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1034215) and gnome's (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712706) bugtrackers. The GNOME folks said this problem was fixed during the development of 3.12 - https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712706 - but many Archers including myself reported that the bug still persists with the update... ideas?

I'm pretty sure this is fixed. Automatic suspend works for me again since Gnome 3.12.

@Matthias,

They say it's a X.org problem - https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=731241 Which version are you using? Automatic suspend still does not work for me.

xorg-server 1.16.1-1

Well, it looks like it's fixed. Just before the idle-time reaches out, the screens lights up showing a notification, then the machine suspends as expected.
