Description:

New GUI crashs when browsing in documentation.
Procedure:
$ octave --force-gui -V
- klick on subwindow Documantation
- klick on some entry
-> GUI hangs, kwin kill it after some time


Additional info:
* package version: octave 3.8.0-2
* no output on console

Confirmed. Suppose this is an upstream bug. Info pages work fine in a terminal.

Don't know if it is related but documentation seems to be slightly broken in 3.8.0 according to upstream bug #41066

Upstream report #41066 says that issue is fixed in 3.8.1, is this issue fixed?

No, it's not fixed.
Just reproduced the bug with octave 3.8.1.
