DetailsThe default kernel includes support for the intel ipw2200 wireless chip, but monitoring mode (usefull for kismet, airsnort, etc.) is not enabled in the config.
I belive that this can be fixed by adding: CONFIG_IPW2200_MONITOR=y to the kernel config. It might also be a good idea to add: CONFIG_IPW_QOS=y I think that this is some quality of service thing? I do not understand how this works, but maybe it should be enabled? Neither of these options are defined in the current config. I think that both of them became available recently as the ipw2200 driver matured, and they just haven't been added to the archlinux config yet. I got this info from http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64623&highlight=ipw2200+monitor |
